Buhari’ ‘ll fulfil his promises to Nigerians – Osinbajo

ABUJA – ACTING President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has reassured Nigerians that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, Government will surely deliver all promises to Nigerians despite numerous challenges facing the economy and the country.

APC, others not democratic - Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar fires

- Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria's former vice president, tongue-lashed his party, the All Progressives Congress, and others for lack of internal democracy 

- Atiku noted that even though democracy had taken root in Nigeria, elements from the military still wield power in the country 

- The former vice president noted that any party that stifles the freedom of its members cannot provide freedom for the country 

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar, has described his party as undemocratic in the way its leaders carry out their activities. NAIJ.com learnt that Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, lamented the alleged refusal of the party to organise statutory meetings for the organs of the party. 

Just In: FG Offers Fresh 9-month Tax Amnesty

According to Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance, a new tax amnesty by the federal government will run for the next nine months to broaden the country’s tax base.

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government on Thursday, launched its Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) to broaden the country’s tax base and offer incentives for tax evaders.

 

According to a report by TheCable, the Ministry of Finance revealed that the tax amnesty will run for the next nine months, effective from July 1, 2017.
